I love this app as it is a great resource for skaters and moms/dads alike. Looking forward to using some of the new apps by this developer as we progress further.
Transitioning to teaching skating in the USFS system (from ISI) I purchased this app to brush up on the slightly different elements in the Basic Skill Program. I love the idea of the app for many purposes (skaters, parents, instructors), but found too many bugs to give it five stars. Menu pages: when viewing in portrait mode the items are squished together on items Freeskate 2, 4 and 5 (I realize in landscape it is fine, but Freestyle 1 is perfect). Description pages: there are elements that the name of the element, the description, and the video do not match up. Example: Freeskate 2 - Waltz 3s have a Begining Back Spin description; Freeskate 3 - Forward and Backward Crossovers have a Back Spin description. Consistency in descriptions: maintaining the order of focus will make it easier to follow. Example: Jumps - sometimes the focus of "jump" is first, sometimes third. Typos: Freeskate 3: Waltz 8 & Backspin descriptions: "Focus: Focus" repeating term (this happens in a few places). Freeskate 2: Basic backward outside and backward inside consecutive edges "Focus:Edge" missing space. Description window: could be much bigger (full screen) so there is no need to scroll through to read the paragraph. Just like in skating - consistency is key!!!! Please review the app with a fine tooth comb, and I would happily give it 5 stars.
So helpful!!!
Really helpful app. I always refer to it to make sure Im executing my elements correctly when Im not with my coach. Its a great reference point to not only see how to execute the elements but also read on how to do them as well.
